I bought many different elastics for my daughter's long, very curly hair. We were looking for something thick enough to hold but not pull or break her hair. These aren't the droids we're looking for. They definitely pull. My hair is straight and I've tried it and it hurts when it's removed. My hair seems to be wrapped in silicone for some reason and I end up with a few strands wrapped around this thing. So far our choice for long and curly hair has been spiral silicone balls. They take a long time to find a place, but they don't hurt that much.
