Edit: This unit is poorly shielded. It turns out that any EMF, say from a fan, causes it to reset instantly. One star gone. It can still be shielded well, but this must be taken into account in the design. At a price 4-5 times higher than this device, this watcher does what I need it to do, which is to give the STB permission for the display's EDID. The examiner does this with an HDCP pass. The little switch is a little hard to read at times, but in my case I set it and forgot. Longevity is unknown, but given the changing technology, that's probably not an issue.
