I love the size of this mat and the fact that it's white for building my models. It protects most of my desktop and the white color makes it easier to see the small details on it. Unfortunately, making plastic models requires the use of various chemicals such as paints, solvents, and glue. After knocking over a full bottle of solvent glue, most of the mat bubbled up and dissipated before I could clean up the spill. The top layer of mat in the bubbling area has completely peeled off leaving an uneven surface making it difficult to get clean cuts (not to mention it looks ugly now. I had to turn the mat over to see the other side to use, which unfortunately is not the same white, but less desirable navy blue.
