unsatisfactory - not recommended

I received this item in the mail today. I was expecting something made out of hard plastic that would help sew two or more layers of fabric together, especially something that would help my visually impaired 85 year old mother-in-law get better results with her quilt. This item is made from two thin pieces of plastic (I could make something better out of plastic out of a milk carton). woven together for assembly. Then each end of the assembly needs to be glued to the bed of the sewing machine. Then there's a plastic tab that you have to hold onto while sewing because otherwise it will want to stand up on its own. It's "adjustable" if you want to use strips of different widths, but you'll have to peel off at least one end to adjust and then glue it back on I guess. But only four adhesive pads are provided, which are needed for initial gluing. My mother in law will never be able to use it. The surface is highly reflective, making it difficult to use. I just can't express enough how disappointed I am. It's in the middle of the ceiling now - and I was really hoping that would work. I will return it if the seller allows a return. I'm still waiting to hear. And come to think of it - I actually ordered TWO of these in case my daughter wanted one. ADDITION TO THE ORIGINAL POST: This device sits between the front of the sewing foot and the person sewing. It extends both left and right of center, so there must be room on the machine bed for it to be placed and fixed. My Husqvarna quilting machine doesn't have room for it. So if you decide to do this, make sure your machine bed has room for it.

Due to accident have not had a chance to use this item yet. But it appears to be a very nice tool
