I'm surprised by all the positive reviews. The jacket I received had almost no down in many places and no padding at all, so it feels like a very thin and light windbreaker. There were small clumps of down in some places on the jacket, so I tried to maneuver and push the small clumps into areas of the jacket where there was no padding. I quickly realized that it wasn't enough to switch to other areas. In any case, there will be parts of the jacket that will never be filled with down. I thought I must be missing something as there were so many positive reviews so I wore the jacket outside in 23 degrees and the jacket didn't hold me. generally warm. How can a jacket keep you warm when most of it isn't lined? A cold wind whipped through the jacket. It does not warm and does not protect against the wind. The jacket runs a bit small, especially around the hips. I'm 5'6, 160 pounds and ordered a size Large. It sits well on the chest and arms but doesn't leave much room over a bulky sweater and is tight around the hips. The design of the jacket is simple and comfortable. I particularly like the detachable hood that fits snugly around the face. The black is really black, not too shiny. It compresses really well too, it definitely "packs" and maybe that's because there's so little fluff in it - ha! In the end I returned this jacket and received a full refund.
