Wanted a regular cheap case. The problem is that all regular cases are expensive and all have cheap folio cases that I don't need. So I bought this one, cut off the lid and hid the excess behind the tablet. Looks nice. Suitable for those who write or draw on its surface as it is slim body. in this respect it does not protect against falls. I'm willing to make that compromise as I don't drop it and I enjoy typing on my tablet. Message to Manufacturers: I'm sure many Surface owners would like a cheap, thin case without a tome cover. Please do it without folio cover
