I wouldn't call this shirt heavy. In comparison, Hanes has a line of Beefy Tees that are much thicker. When I put this shirt on, I realize that I can see through it (see photo). I found the material thick enough to wear over an equally thin t-shirt and warm enough in 55F, sunny weather to walk the block. Without the sun I would be cold. In addition, the shirt is soft and comfortable. I'm 6ft 1in, 190lbs, 42 and I find the plus size "L" fits loose and is similar to how the models are pictured. Wrist. The color is just as clean and crisp but is broken up by the large logo. This logo size and position mimics Carhartt shirts, which do the same thing but are really heavy and more expensive. I'm rating it a 4 because it's a beautiful shirt that costs less than the Carhartt equivalent.
