Review on πŸ“¦ Scotch Filament 893: Streamlined Packaging for Hassle-Free Use by Steve Modesto

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Filament tape is the best option

Masking tape: for masking, not fixing Packing tape: sticks well to cardboard Duck tape: strong, easy to use without scissors, will hold up your plane together (see MythBusters) filament (strapping) tape; Rated Band: Really strong. glass fiber reinforced for packing a carton with engine parts. Wrapped completely around an item or box, it adheres well to itself and needs to be cut with a dispenser, scissors, or xacto-like tool. This tape is reinforced in the longitudinal direction. Some straps also have fiberglass cross strands. It's not like this. But it sticks well and cuts easily and still doesn't seem to come loose so you'll have to rip it off the pieces to get it working again. A star deduction because the base is quite thin, which reduces the strength somewhat. Another star was removed because it was not trimmed cleanly at the factory: sometimes it does not fit at the edges, so that the ribbon threads protrude on the sides.

Pros
  • Adhesive provides a great balance of initial adhesion and long-term adhesion
Cons
  • I'll write later
