Review on SECURE® Denture Adhesive Comfort Strips by Dhoal Olson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sometimes all it takes is another shot and a new method.

I have had dentures for almost two years and have tried almost every product hoping to find something strong enough to just digest food. Powders, creams, pastes, pads, combinations of everything. Nothing worked well enough to be safe to eat in public without drastically restricting my menu. I've only recently changed into permanent pants and while they fit well and look great, the buttocks still fall off after a few bites. I ordered them on a whim Thursday morning, received them Friday afternoon, tried them on Saturday (decided to take the reviewer's advice and cut them down) and was on the fence. They lasted longer but still came off before my meal was finished and also became uncomfortable due to the strip's center mesh. Removing the strip took a while and I could understand the previous negative reviews, but today I decided to try again without cutting the strip into two narrow pieces. This time I only had to trim a little around the edge. I added a tiny bead of safety glue to a few known problem areas that are notorious for it (and I mean "tiny"), wiped my lower gums with a towel, inserted the plate, bite down slowly but firmly, and held 15 minutes without eating, drinking or talking. It was almost 12 hours, 2 meals and a snack back. During this time they did not move, did not rise, did not cause discomfort and did not lick. This is the first time in almost two years that I've finally felt confident enough to eat whatever I want without fear of edging out in public. This product and my own weird little tricks have worked great for me and I'm very happy to finally feel as normal as possible again. To update. survived dinner. A strip of Secure Cushion and tiny dots of Secure Adhesive on problem areas kept it strong throughout the day and through any meals that required biting and chewing. I "enjoyed" pancakes with blueberries, bacon, fresh fruit, burritos with rice, beans, chicken, avocado, salsa and cheese, a handful of cherries, and a stuffed pork chop with grilled veggies. My way of removing them is by rinsing your mouth with warm water and baking soda. The PH helps to dissolve the product enough for convenient removal and the strip was easily removed after a 10 minute soak in a warm water/baking soda bath. I am very satisfied with the result and very glad that I tried this product!
