This is real 14k gold. I'm super allergic to most medals, especially nickel, to the point where my ears swell for days. Last week I put these rings in my ears (I ordered two), slept with them, showered with them, walked/exercised with them. in them etc. and there were no problems. So at this point they've been in my ears for almost 7 days - and I've had no reaction (usually no reaction for 1-2 days if not 14k and up). They are small and I like the way they look. They match perfectly with my other rose gold stud earrings that I have in my ears. It's best to have tweezers or small pliers to close them once they're in your ear, or ask a friend for help. I was able to close them, but it was a little difficult. I only had to move the hoop further once where I could see the ends in the mirror and slide it back once it was closed.
