Totally agree with the other reviews on the easy assembly and GREAT style to complement my bar counter. There were 2 short self tapping screws ("8+2") in the kit but I couldn't find where they went (other than extras which would be nice to have). The stool is very stable at a low height, wobbles a little when it is fully extended, but you should still not dance on the chair! The main reason for the 4-star rating is the gas-powered hydraulic mast. it looks very "sticky". Can't tell if it works properly as it goes up and down, but with a lot of effort; "up" is much easier than "down". Has anyone lubricated the rod with white grease or WD-40? I don't want this to be too slick, just a little help. Maybe it's just a little dry from the manufacturer. Otherwise, these are stylish, visually appealing, and comfortable seats that actually recline and swivel. I wouldn't recommend it for kids though (especially fully stripped) as the base isn't heavy enough to support a small climber. :D
