This rating relates to the color sorting set in the learning market. I bought this color sorting set for my 3 year old son. He is currently attending a special education program for young children. I am constantly looking for activities that will pique his interest and help him in the various areas he is struggling in. It does. This purchase includes a set of 5 plastic baskets, each labeled with a different color. . It also includes 25 pieces of fruits and vegetables for a total of 5 fruits and vegetables of each color. The baskets are made of hard plastic and have survived many throws in the room. They have never cracked and look as new and radiant as the day I bought them. The same can be said about fruits. They are solid and feel like a combination of rubber and plastic. My son has been chewing and trying to crush them and they are in perfect condition. They are not slippery and are of good thickness (but not too big) which makes them easy to grab. All are bright in color and retain their luminosity even after intensive use. They are extremely durable and very versatile. We use this for both creative and structured play. They are used in our play kitchen and when shopping. We use them for colouring, sorting, identifying and counting fruits and vegetables. My son will sit and sort in front of the baskets, and sometimes he'll stand a little apart and throw fruit into the baskets. We spread the food pieces around the living room and he will run to take them based on the name or color of the food. I am very happy with the quality of the baskets and fruit. I have no doubt that it will last for many years. Once my son stops using it, I will donate it to our early childhood education program for other children to benefit from.
