We are very happy with this pedal car! Our 6 year old loves it! The look on his face as he rides happily is priceless! It was pretty quick and easy to put together and it's a sturdy pedal car. The wheels are well finished, the handbrake works well and it was natural for him to use it. The low center of gravity also ensures excellent balance. Unlike a battery-powered wagon, you are not limited in playtime, but the speed depends on the child's strength and energy. This is great exercise and helps with coordination and judgment - they should use these skills when learning to 'steer' a vehicle safely. But best of all, it's great fun for kids! I'm not sure if a 3 year old would be coordinated enough or tall enough to drive this kart effectively. The child's feet must be able to reach the pedals, and they must have the strength and coordination to steer, pedal, and use the handbrake effectively. We recommend an age range of 4 to 8 years, but depending on the individual child this age range can be increased. Again, look at the manufacturer's recommendations for weight limits, etc. After looking for a ride-on for this middle age group, we decided this car was the perfect choice! The expression on our little man's face speaks for itself!
