I'm an amateur photographer and I have a couple of expensive DSLRs. However, I was uncomfortable taking it with me on my canoe trip, so I bought this camera instead. Of course it's not as good as an expensive DSLR, but for this event it scored EXCELLENT. Not only did it take decent pictures, but it was also very durable. I dropped it several times in the canoe and it flopped into the water with no problem. It was definitely worth filming during the water-related events. I had an old model that I used for diving and I liked it too. Can't wait to snorkel with it as it's newer and higher resolution than my old one.
