I was trying to run a fishless cycle in a new 60 gallon tank of food. I realized that this method was slow and smelly, so I decided to try Dr. to try Tim's. This product and cycling method has been tried and tested so I'm sure they will work great. My beef with a bottle cap. i have dr Received Tims along with the only one with the amazing prime next day delivery service. The bottle I received was nothing like the bottles I see in the photos I see on Revain or in YouTube videos. Small 2 ounces. The bottle pictured throughout has a small "eye drop" type cap as seen on API bottles. Bottle The Tims I received had a regular screw top cap as well as an optional flip-up drip cap. First, there was no factory seal on the bottle. I'm not sure if this is unusual or not as this is my first experience with Dr. Tim is. I also noticed that there was NO smell of ammonia. I found that unusual. Not sure if this brand of ammonia actually smells like ammonia or not? Despite my doubts as to whether this product is genuine or fake, I unscrewed the "drip" cap and went to dose the tank. I expected to be able to invert the bottle and dispense one drop at a time. Instead, I had a huge orgasm before I even started counting the drops. So, I have no idea how much ammonia (is it really ammonia?) I dosed. I checked this morning and thankfully it doesn't look like I've overdosed with readings of 0.25-0.50ppm. So there was a slight increase in the ammonia, so I can assume what was in the bottle was indeed ammonia. On the other hand, since I have no idea of the dose originally applied, I will be flying blind for the rest of the cycle from now on. The bike is my armor. The only problem now is getting out of the house to buy fish to keep the cycle going. I was a little harsh with Dr. Tim's hat. I'm always looking for something I order from Revain and it looks a little different than the picture. The lid was still PIA when I used it. I had to be extremely careful not to squirt it out. It was very difficult to count the drops, but I managed.
