Review on 🎧 Fostex T60RP Diaphragm Stereo Headphones by Hotaru Kai ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like everything, the quality is good, the price is reasonable.

To begin with, I will share my impression not from the point of view of listening to any esoteric or how the chair of the orchestra member creaked and this creak is clearly heard in the depths of the stage, etc. Headphones are really captivating, but the unprepared ear needs to get used to the smooth sound of the planar driver. The sound can be compared with the sound of studio monitors, but not for mixing and working with sound, but for the final listening, everything is there and everything is where it needs to be, universal. They perfectly convey the emotions and atmosphere of the studio, even within the same album it is clearly audible that the tracks were written in different rooms. The dynamics are excellent, the detailing with a flat frequency response is just fire, unlike competitors where the frequency response is correctly combed and rushing pseudo detail. Tonalka is neutral with a slight, barely noticeable bias towards warmth (as the monitors for the final run wrote above) They need an amp that is really powerful, not loud, but capable of delivering current to a low-resistance load. If the amp cannot do this, then you will get noisy headphones, sibilants, etc. Comfortable within the framework of its cost, for a four with a minus. For their cost, they simply have no competitors, I have different headphones in addition to Fostex T60RP, there is something to compare Denon AH-D5200, Audio-Technica ATH-A2022X, Sennheiser HD 700, Sennheiser HD 599, Shure SRH1540, Fostex TH 610 and all of them drained to one degree or another. Of course they are not ideal, there are planars more interesting but also much more expensive

Pros
  • Very smooth sound across the entire range
Cons
  • low chuyka with all that it implies
