I bought it, so when I charge my cell phone and laptop with public charger, like charger at airport, plane or hotel etc. I don't get no virus. I used it when I traveled abroad, better safe than sorry. It worked great. Don't use this when transferring files from one device to another, the transfer will be blocked and won't work - it does the job. But you can use your cell phone while this thing is in use and charging.
