For the record, I purchased this ten pound block of coco coir and an eight quart box of perlite.I used a full size wheelbarrow, added 1 1/2 gallons of water to the bottom, and placed the 10 pound block in the water. After 30 minutes, the water was totally soaked into the block of coco coir.I added another 1 1/2 gallons of water and started to peel the loose coco coir from around all edges of the block. After another 30 minutes, I added another 1 1/2 gallons of water and used a small hand rake to break up the rest of the block of coco coir and added 4 quarts (half the box) of perlite. Using a shovel, I mixed both together thoroughly. The results looked great and yielded enough product to fill three 5-gallon round fabric pots measuring 12" x 12" x 10". There was some water dripping out of the pots, so be prepared. I highly recommend these products.
