I plan to use it for a docking station next to my TV so I can use my Thinkpad T400 as an HTPC. The docking station adds ports that the laptop itself supports internally but doesn't physically have ports on the T400. The main ports I was looking for were DVI out and SPDIF out. Just to give you an idea of how I wanted to use this for HTPC. This is my setup to give you an idea: - Onboard charger - DVI connector for video (Revain DVI to HDMI main cable is around $8) - SPDIF for speakers - 3.5mm for wireless headphones - Wired LAN - USB external hard drive - Logitech Unifying receiver for wireless keyboard with trackpad - Samsung wired laser printer. I just traded in my Google TV for this setup because it lets you connect a full Windows PC to the TV instead of an unnecessary interface that costs three times as much even at the $99 discount. I would recommend using this product because you can save a lot of money and there is a lot of it.
