I recently discovered amber's supposed pain-relieving properties and wanted to try some products for my child. I almost didn't buy it because other reviews complained about chemical smells. But I'm glad I did! It doesn't smell of chemicals, but it smells strongly of NATURAL RUBBER! I put the toy in my mouth right out of the box and despite the rubber smell, there was no chemical or other odor. Washing in Dawn soap followed by rinsing with drinking water is almost entirely gone. I'm very sorry. For the seller, people only return this item because they don't know what natural rubber smells like! This toy is one of my daughter's new favorites, she gets so excited when she sees it. I don't know it relieves her pain but she loves to chew it. Five stars.
