Good Door Catch but Replace the Screws

Good door catch with absolutely horrible screws. You need to drill pilot holes but don't be surprised if the screws still fail when using a hand screwdriver. The heads twisted off of two screws. Had to reposition the catch in order to drive fresh screws. I'd pay a couple dollars more for better screws. Saves me a trip to the hardware store.

Pros
  • These work ok. But the alignment had to be perfect. the magnets are still rather weak at that.
Cons
  • May not be strong enough to hold certain types of cabinet doors

A bit pricey, but a great product and easy to install.

For what these are, cabinet latches, they are expensive. However I have never installed any magnetic catches of this type that were as easy as these. The sticky gel tape that is supplied, makes alignment of the catch plate super easy. The ease of installation makes them worth the price. Yes, I highly recommend them and if I need more I will buy them again.

Pros
  • Worked very well, much better quality than expected, would buy again
Cons
  • May not hold heavy cabinet doors

Good magnetic catcher but the screws aren’t good

I bought these magnet catchers for my cabinets and the catchers themselves are of great quality. The adhesive option makes it really easy to install the metal plate. But the screw are of cheap quality, they are really hard to screw on even with a drill, they kept on slipping and lost a few of them. The screws don’t attach to magnetic screw drivers. The screws are the only reason I gave a low rating for this product.

Pros
  • Worked great
Cons
  • I had to send these back, the magnets were too weak to hold the plantation shutters in place.

Good product, work well, easy to install

I used these to replace a number of 20 year old magnetic latches in the custom, flush door cabinets in our kitchen and dining room:- They're more compact (though the magnetic part fit the existing screw holes) and less obtrusive.- The stainless steel is attractive.- The adhesive strips are useful to hold the plates in place long enough to drill starter holes for the screws, much easier than trying to mark where they go; a time saving feature.- They hold the doors closed securly but aren't so…

Pros
  • Desk drawers and kitchen cabinets doors
Cons
  • May be difficult to install for those with limited DIY experience

Opened and missing adhesive strips

Reduced rating because package was opened and was missing some adhesive strips. Not returning as can still mount without. Made installation a bit trickier without them. Product itself works as expected

Pros
  • The closures help prevent pests and insects from accessing cabinets and drawers
Cons
  • May not come with proper installation instructions

Very weak magnets in my review

Design and installation are good, but the magnets are so weak that they don't do anything to hold any cabinet doors or drawers closed. They can only just barely hold up their own weight when not attached to a door or drawer.

Pros
  • Exactly has described. Great value
Cons
  • May be visually unappealing and not match other hardware in the kitchen or restroom

Great magnetic strength

Very strong. Works to keep my pet hamster out of our kitchen cupboards that won't close properly. I wish both magnetic pieces, not just one, had a sticky strip to help install.

Pros
  • Easy to Position & Install: First anchor the magnet in the cabinet door frame, then place the steel plate onto the magnet. Peel off the double sided ahesive (Comes in red and white colors and will be shipped randomly) and stuck to the steel plate. Close the cabinet door tighly and open the door. The steel plate is stuck to the door in the perfect position. Just screw the plate in place. The strips make the installation so much easier.
Cons
  • May not work well with cabinets or drawers that are frequently opened and closed

Great product but misleading item description

These did not have the double sided sticky tape on them as shown in picture's and videos. This was one of the reasons I chose this item. It still served it's purpose but description is misleading.

Pros
  • The magnetic closures are eco-friendly and do not require electricity or batteries to operate
Cons
  • May not be strong enough to hold up to excessive movement or jiggling

cabinet closures best in my review

The product is pretty much as described, but some things are subjective. The magnets are described as strong, but compared to other cabinet magnets I have installed, I would rate them as medium strength. Great for kitchen cabinets, but not strong enough for garage use.

Pros
  • Works as expected
Cons
  • May not function properly if installed incorrectly

Screws not useable: my feedback

Nice solid magnets but the screws are pointless. They are cheap and break.Go ahead and buy new screws if you choose these. Magnets work well but the screw are not useable. It's nice that the magnet plate is adhesive and you get a perfect placement.

Pros
  • The closures are an affordable alternative to traditional hardware
Cons
  • May not work well with cabinets or drawers that are frequently opened and closed by the elderly and disabled

Easy Install good for me

These were a breeze to install. Very sturdy. There were a few of the strike plates that wouldn’t set with the adhesive tape. Other than that no issues.

Pros
  • The strong magnetic force ensures that doors and drawers remain closed even during transportation or movement
Cons
  • May be difficult to clean and maintain

Very good! good for me

While the adhesive tape is too thin and small, and not enough for every piece. The magnets and plates are good quality.all metal and no plastic.

Pros
  • The magnetic force is strong enough to secure even heavy cabinet doors
Cons
  • May damage the surface of the cabinet or drawer if not installed correctly

Old House Cabinet Restoration

We bought a 60 year old house built in 1962 and we love it. It has the original wood cabinets in the kitchen that are made of solid wood. Not sure if it's old pine or oak or something else but it had roller style latches for the kitchen cabinets. Some of the latches had been replaced over time, but some look like the originals. Over time, the latches had tons of wear. Some still worked okay, but several were not working well. I decided to replace all of them with these magnet latches.I could…

Pros
  • The closures help save time by reducing the need for knobs or handles
Cons
  • May require strenuous effort to open and close

Wouldn't recommend

Here are the problems there is no adhesive on the magnet to show you where to install the magnet that is suposto be separated by the main magnet and in order to get this to work half way decent it has to match up almost perfectly for you to get any kind of hold from the magnet. The main problem for me was the fact that even with proper placement the magnets are not strong, not even joking. I wasn't expecting an excellent hold for the money but seriously they can't even withstand less than the…

Pros
  • What You Get: 4 x 46mm Cabinet Latches and Catches; 4 x Double Sided Adhesives; Screws; Our fan-favorite 12-month warranty and friendly customer service.
Cons
  • May be prone to rust if not properly cared for

Perfect for My Antique Wash Stand

The door on the antique oak wash stand that I use as a night table would never stay closed, so I needed a magnetic catch to keep it from swinging open with the slightest floor vibration. The bronze finish on this stand allows it to blend in with the color of the wood and the weathered drawer and door pulls and the magnet is just strong enough to hold the door shut without making it too difficult to open. It's the perfect combination of design and functionality for my needs.

Pros
  • Product has a strong grip for such a small piece.
Cons
  • May be affected by temperature changes and lose magnetic strength

A pain to install on my review.

After these are installed, they work fine. Getting them installed, correctly can be a bit of a challenge.Although there is a slot for where the screws go, all it needs is a hole.I put the screws all the way to the back of the slot, because every time you open that door, the magnet wants to go with the metal plate/door.The screws work great for the plates, tapered holes, tapered screws, works great. The magnets are not tapered, and will slide on the screws.Because my cabinet doors have little…

Pros
  • The magnetic closures are easy to adjust for a perfect fit
Cons
  • May not work well with cabinets or drawers that are frequently opened and closed in a humid environment

High Quality, easy to install

Excellent magnetic latches for kitchen cabinet door (in my case). I taped the magnet to the door frame, drilled 3/32 holes, easy. The company gives you "adhesive" (actually sticky stuff you peel right off) strips that are two sided. Use that to put the metal piece onto the magnet, close the door on it, and then open the door and the metal piece sticks to the door! Drill two more holes, done! :-)

Pros
  • The Jiayi brand is known for its high-quality kitchen products
Cons
  • May not work well on painted or textured surfaces

Unimpressed. best in my review

I got these because my cat likes to open the cabinets and walk all over things and knock things down. When you open the pack, the metal plate is strongly attracted to the magnet, but when you mount it, the added weight of the cabinet makes it very easy to open, and it is not very effective. As for mounting, as long as you know what you are doing, no problem, otherwise getting the tiny metal plate to line up perfectly with the tiny magnet is a real hassle. So, not easy to install and not strong…

Pros
  • Hardware
Cons
  • May be easily damaged by moisture or humidity

plastic melts in the sun

Why any window installer would use plastic window latches is bizarre as the sun will turn them brittle within a couple of years and then they are dust - these ones are built for sun country

Pros
  • The stainless steel construction ensures durability and long-lasting use
Cons
  • May require special cleaning to maintain magnetic strength

Wrong type of screws for install

Be aware that if you purchase these magnets, you will need to go to the hardware store and purchase your own screws to do the install. First off, the screws sent by the seller are so cheaply made that the head of the screw will simply twist and break off before you screw it in all the way so it is tight. Secondly, the seller has sent only flat head screws which would normally work fine for the metal piece that attaches to the cabinet door (if they did not break so easily). But you will need pan

Pros
  • The closures are a great addition to DIY projects or home renovations
Cons
  • May not work well with cabinets or drawers that have loose hardware
