I bought this smart case because my iPad fell out of the original case after about five years. The pad fits snugly into this new case. However, the opening tab - imagine opening a book - is very loose when you pack it. I also don't like the feel of the material. If it cost as much as Apple's Smart Cover, it would be a huge rip-off. But for the price it's acceptable if your standards aren't too high. Conclusion: Next time I would try a different product.
