The 80's dream lives in this box

I love the retro design, reminiscent of the "beige box" era of electronic devices that peaked in the 80's. It is very easy to use, all controls are in one handle. And the display (round!) is nice to look at. I have nothing to complain about in terms of functionality. If you want basic real-time CO2 and particulate matter monitoring ('real-time' meaning you can't record data for later, other than by recording what you see on screen), this works great. I haven't tried to compare it to other devices, so I can't confirm its accuracy, but the numbers I've seen seem plausible: CO2 goes up when I'm in a closed space, PM goes up when I'm in the Kitchen is I cook etc. Please note that only one indicator (CO2, PM2.5 or PM10) can be displayed at a time. My only real complaint is the noise. The device is silent most of the time, but beeps when you turn the knob to switch from one reading (CO2, PM2.5 or PM10) to the other. I suspect the beep should be a small beep that you hear when you turn off the device, but instead it sounds like a high-pitched howl, loud enough to make anyone nearby turn their heads and look at it. This is an odd design flaw in a device that's otherwise pleasant to use. Oh, and the charging port is an esoteric 5V plug. Too bad this device doesn't use USB-C or at least Micro-USB.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
