Review on ๐Ÿฑ Enhanced Access for Feline Friends: Cat Mate 4-Way Locking Cat Door by Tim Harrington

Revainrating 5 out of 5

8 years experience.

I installed this in an old custom 7.5" x 9.5" window and put a glass strip through a small piece of 1/4 -Inch plywood replaced. and installed Cat Mate in it. Works perfectly! Cats use the porch railing to get onto the windowsill from the outside. I used to leave the back door or window open for cats in the summer. But that was a problem with the local raccoons and possums that came. In 8 years no non-cat has used the Cat Mate (unless they carried it in my cat's mouth). The blocking setting is useful because the stray cat will never return after discovering that it cannot return to run away from the madman with the broom. {:-) A cat caught in this way hit the locked cat flap so hard that the plywood broke off the window frame. After 8 years of heavy use, things were looking pretty bad. So I screwed on the old one and screwed on the new one, very easily. This time I chose brown so that the dirt is not so visible. Ready for another 8 years when the cats show me their treasures. If only I could teach cats to wipe their paws.

Pros
  • Recommended for thin doors and dividers up to 1/2" thick
Cons
  • Expensive
