Review on Tenba Fulton 10L Backpack 637 722 by Elizabeth Reyes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for large mirrorless cameras or full-size mountless DSLRs with multiple lenses.

Tenba Fulton 10L Backpack - I have a 16L Lowepro Hatchback (Blue and Black) that I use as a day/trip backpack for my Canon 5D Mark IV and later my R5 (body with RF-EF adapter and attached 24-70 f/2.8 II, 16-35mm f/4, 70-200mm f/2.8 II, 600-ex flash and accessories) in recent years. Although there is no dedicated tripod mount, I was able to attach a carabiner to the bag handle to attach my travel Gitzo 1545T and it worked well. I wanted something a little more compact for city touring... maybe my R5 with a lens attached (usually my 16-35mm or 24-70) and the occasional room for an extra lens (70-200 f/2.8). I like the thin profile of the 16L hatchback (about 5.5-6 inches deep). I'm not the tallest either (5ft 7in / 150lbs) so a small backpack doesn't feel uncomfortable for me. I looked at several options including the Lowepro m-trekker 150 which I liked but found too similar to my 16 liter hatchback. I came across a range of Tenba Fulton backpacks. I love the ultra slim profile or Oni and the folding feature which I've never had before. They also have dedicated tripod straps on each side. When I searched, I found that many sellers do not have them in stock. The Fulton range is available in 14 liter and 10 liter versions, both in black and brown. Before making my purchase I wanted to try them out to see if they fit what I need for a day trip while still providing enough protection for my gear. I managed to find a store with both versions. I was happy that the 10L (which I originally aimed for) was able to hold my R5 with the 24-70mm f/2.9 II attached, even with the EF-RF adapter attached. This rig measures 5.5 inches high, 4.25 inches deep and 8.25 inches long. It can also hold a 70-200mm f/2.8 II 8.75" lens. This main camera compartment is 8.75 inches long, 6.5 inches high and 4.75 inches deep. I was also pleased to see that the top section of the roll cover can also fit 70-200mm (in length) but also can increase its height from 5" to around 10". You can fit a lot in this space: an extra lens, flash, accessories, clothes, etc. In the end I managed to outfit my R5 with a 24-70 attachment, a filter housing, 70-200mm, 16-35mm, 600 Blitz-ex, Blitz EL-100, other small accessories and Gitzo 1545T tripod on the side. The tripod pocket on the side can also be used for extra storage or a water bottle. After flipping the lens it was convenient for me to leave the tripod there.Without flipping my legs I can just use the carabiner to attach myself to the handle to hook in. On the other side there is also a small pocket ore shallow compartment can be used for memory cards, documents or even an iPad (I was able to fit a standard 9.7 inch iPad there). That's A LOT for a 10 liter bag! I would recommend this bag to anyone with a mirrorless camera and even those with full (no handle) DSLRs (height can be an issue - see dimensions above to ensure your model cameras are suitable) as a great day trip bag.
