Works with Honeywell controller

I'm just checking the sensor. I'm a homeowner making ends meet. If you are uncomfortable, hire a professional. I'm not a profi. Enter at your own risk. I bought this sensor for a Rheem water heater with a Honeywell controller. Bought water heater in 2016. As far as I know the sensor doesn't care what brand the water heater is. This only applies to the controller. That turns it off. Problem: No hot water. The LED will flash 7 times to indicate the combustible vapor sensor is blocked. Assuming there are no flammable fumes around the water heater, the reset process is to turn off the controller, unplug the controller power cord, set the temperature to a low value, plug the power cord back into the outlet , turn on the controller, and turn the temperature switch from low to high and back to low 7 times. You will likely hear a throttle click on the 4th cycle, but do all 7 and then adjust it to the desired position. I was getting power cuts all the time, so I ordered this sensor. Easy to replace. Pull out the old, pull out the plug, plug in and put in the new. Two wires from the controller with spade connectors and two connectors on the sensor. I'm not sure, but I assume you can't go wrong. Takes less than 5 minutes. My old sensor crashed to 0, as did my new one. Find out. Probably operator error. Until the new sensor caused a trip. It's early days and if this system allows me to update whenever there is a problem, I will. I'll order another one of these sensors and keep it by the water heater as a backup. Much luck. As I said at the beginning, do this at your own risk. I'm not a profi. See photos for more information.
