Review on Happybuy Blacksmith Equipment Jewelers Metalsmith by Shantel Griffin

Good price, few nuances.

I got one of these anvils shortly after Old Hickory Forge posted their video review. the first time and the coating burned and stank) and the horn was painted, and even the texture of the casting is rough. He attacked the thing with a flower disc, removed the cover from the face, peeled off the edges, The ring on the thing was fierce. Putting it on my cranky stump is becoming more bearable, I think if I had a stump fixed it would put her at ease more. The parabolic hole is mostly useless due to its location, but I've made a few hooks that work in it. The stamina hole is a little close to the anvil's body. So if you pierce the stamina your punch can hit the anvil's body/leg and get stuck. Not the end of the world, but makes drifting a bit tricky. I just made a support plate that works like a saddle to more or less allow you to use the Hardy as a simile. Let's see how useful this is. The only real complaint is the location of the hardened/mortises, and the horn on mine is quite awkwardly thick, more like a boot toe than a cone. If I get tired of the horn, I can try grinding it into a more pleasing shape. In general, for getting started and working on small projects, this is a perfectly acceptable anvil for beginners. The double horn is very useful for working with fine details, and its price is very attractive.

Pros
  • Stylish and Modern Design
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled
