No panic! Ideal for disabled pets

Don't panic! When I first received this and unwrapped it from the incredibly small box it came in I thought I had been scammed. I was convinced I had just spent $100 on styrofoam that would never look like an ad. I couldn't believe how it looked when it first opened. I'm aware that foam stretches, but I never thought it could stretch enough to look right. I've attached a picture of how it first looked when rolled up for the first time. As you can see, it didn't look like a staircase. It was only 12 inches tall and looked like it was rocking on the bottom because it was curved. After 24 hours it has stretched and looks fantastic. I was surprised. It has also grown to 19 inches in height. It's a few inches shorter than we expected based on the ad. We bought a large ladder because it needed to be about 22 inches tall. We used this to help the cat climb onto the bed so the height was important to us. 19 inch eventually worked, but it's not what we expected. We bought this for a rescue cat that had a paralyzed butt. She can pull herself up using her front paws, but she has trouble with traditional pet stairs because they're made of hard plastic, even if they're carpeted. These foam steps make it easy for her to sink her claws and climb on them. They are perfect for her given her disability. Aside from my initial intimidation when I opened them and they looked awful, the other downside is the price. In the end it is worth the price to help my cat, but I find it a bit overpriced for the foam. All in all I recommend them. They are ideal for helping a disabled animal that cannot negotiate normal steps or ramps.
