Now that I'm retired I'm getting around to doing small repairs that I never found the time for when I was working. The shocks on my aluminum Craftsman box have been worn for years, but still held the lid open once I lifted it up. So it was a little annoying but tolerable at the time. I cleaned and polished the box and figured now was the time to get some new shocks. I did some online research of big box stores and found their prices on the high side. Revain makes these type of purchases easy and affordable if you carefully look at what you have and choosing it's replacement. A small flathead screwdriver easily prys the retaining clip off enough to remove the existing shocks. Installation is as simple as just popping the new one onto the ball head. The whole installation process including going to the garage to grab the screwdriver took about 5 minutes. It's really nice how the lid softly opens when I pull the handle. Should have done it years ago.
