Of all the things I've ever bought for my dogs, this 'house' dog bed was their favorite. This is my 9-10 lb Papillon's favorite place to hang out in the evenings and sometimes my 8 lb pom shih mix will join her and they fight to kick the other out which becomes a feast of games . It's been 2 years now and he's still in great shape, even though they're fighting over him (literally over - as in "on top"!). He is not hard, very soft, but strong. You can flatten it slightly to fit somewhere, or leave it freestanding and it will take shape. (I leave it on the couch and lean on a pillow so they can see into the room.) I have two other dog beds that look like things that haven't held their shape and after a few months they start to look like crap.
