Taking a firmware without a 4K TV is pointless. There will be many games with unlocked frames per second, but the difference of more than 10,000 is not worthwhile. Only 3-5 very worthwhile games will look different on a 4K TV, but otherwise optimized games will appear the same. After purchasing the firmware, I started to consider putting together a gaming computer. It is better to create a gaming PC for $30k if you don't have Sonya. Yes, you won't get 60 frames per second on ultra, but Sonya's 4 hardware is still old, and you'll get better performance and cheaper Steam games with a PC for your $30,000. If you want exclusives, you may buy a fatka for $11,000 on eBay, purchase more games on disks, and then resell them for the same price you paid for them. If you have fat or slender, upgrading only makes financial sense if you have 4K and a severe financial itch.
- 1) Good stretching 4K patches for The Witcher 3, HZD, and Uncharted 4 2) Some games (DS 3, BF1) have increased FPS. 3) Much quieter than fatki, virtually undetectable, yet noisy under pressure.
- 1) I didn't see HDR in games like HZD and BF1. Both turning it on and off had no effect. 2) Very few games are optimized. I could be mistaken, but I believe that the only games that depict chess in up to 4K are Uncharted 4, HZD, and The Witcher 3. The FPS was also increased in a few spots (I only have experience with BF1; there is a noticeable change after a fat with drawdowns of up to 40 fps; on the firmware, it is usually always 60; and DS3; on average, it now outputs 45 instead of the previous 30). 3) Game developers are not in a rush to update games for resolution or frame rate. And it appears that they won't be in a rush. Never was Bloodborne patched. After the firmware was released, The Witcher had to wait a year before the creators announced there wouldn't be any optimization.
