I bought this to control the speed of just one Hunter 23856 fan. I know it's a little fancy, but I wanted more control over the basic three speed controls. The complaint I have with this speed controller is that it doesn't change speed very much. Speed governor to control the speed within this range. Actually, I assumed that the wall mounting box would bypass the tension chain control. I personally can't tell any difference between the actual fan speed when the controller is toggled from high to low. However, I have a friend who says he can tell the difference. Looking at it with a voltmeter I can tell that the controller really works. My meter shows it dropping 55VAC on the low setting and only 6VAC on the high setting, but obviously it would be better if the voltage dropped a lot more on the slow setting and there was a way to bypass the pull circuit . , speed control.
