I originally bought this brand during the 2017/18 California wildfires when the air became terribly unbreathable. It was a pleasure to meet you during these uncertain times where there are currently hundreds of mask vendors in the market. I hand wash with either shampoo (Prell) or dish soap (Dawn), but no matter how you clean your wetsuit, it works. Hang to dry. I recommend washing before use. Ideal for woodworking and also in poor air quality. They have 2 one way valves so not ideal for wearing a Covid-19 mask as they do little to protect others if you are positive. You can wear a surgical mask indoors. Additionally, to ensure the safety of you and others while wearing this mask during the Covid-19 pandemic.
