This is my first slicker brush - bought after a regular bristle brush just didn't cut the mustard on my new Shepherd mix rescue. Foxy came up from TX to New England in early April - and proceeded to blow her winter coat. I was desperate to get it all out safely and cleanly - and this brush did it for sure. SO easy to clean and toss the extra dog I got out of her coat. The price was great and the only reason it didn't get five stars was that it didn't feel "substantial" in my hands and so having little gripping ability from my arthritis - I had to hold it pretty tightly.
