I LOVE this light. It's so versatile and easy to use. You can stick it almost anywhere. I put it in one of the lower kitchen cabinets. The fact that it's motion sensitive - triggered when it detects movement - makes it seem more expensive than it really is. Sounds like you spent a lot of money installing expensive lighting wiring. You can put it anywhere. I have ordered more of these. This makes it much easier to find what I'm looking for in the closet. The length of the lantern is about 15 inches. A charger is included, but no charging socket. The light turns on when motion is detected and turns off after about 5 minutes. You can set the light to be automatic (turns on while driving), always on, or always off. The light itself is magnetic. It comes with a metal "plate" for mounting with foam tape. Once installed, the light simply snaps directly onto the metal plate. I recommend this product.
