I bought the gloves at the start of the 2012 bowhunting season. These aren't the gloves you want to wear when it's hot or very cold outside. They work best at temperatures between 35 and 75 degrees. The gloves are padded on both the backhand and palm for extra comfort. My release sits perfectly on the glove. The gloves also offer more flexibility so your hands don't feel stiff like some of the heavier gloves. These are NOT the type of gloves you want to wear when it's raining. They act like a sponge and absorb everything, even morning dew. Overall, the gloves are a quality product. Updated 7/1/14. I've had these gloves for two seasons now and they are unraveling at the seams. There's no way I'm going to beat her to death. The thread used to sew these gloves together has a serious flaw. If they (Scent Lok) can solve this problem, I recommend these gloves for early season deer hunting. Until they do, however, find another gauntlet.
