Broken screen protectors

I don't know what's wrong, but since I switched to this case, I've broken 2 screen protectors in 2 weeks. That's super unusual for me. It seems to me that the border around the screen isn't high enough and that's why my screen protector catches everything. I'm afraid to try it without a protective film.
