Not sure how well they will do on their own. I can definitely smell them when I get near my cats, so thankfully it's not a bad smell. They are combined with an anti-marking spray (Comfort Zone) and a stress hormone (Feliway Optimum) on the wall. I have checked my cats every day and so far in the first month they have been with them there have been no signs of burns or skin problems. Personally I wish they were less expensive as I have to use three a month. I will say that everything worked together. I no longer have to spray everything every day and my cats no longer pee in the places they are used to. They appear much calmer and actually hug each other again. Definitely a good patch for deeper issues, in my case I had to move around a lot so my cats were incredibly stressed. When I get to my steady state end of this year I won't need the stuff anymore, but I'll say it's worked for the time being. As a minimum I would recommend spray and collars or collars and earplugs unless you don't want to use all three like I did. The spray itself was very effective, but very expensive and financially unsustainable. Other products are expensive too, but not that bad.
