Not sure how well they will do on their own. I can definitely smell them when I get near my cats, so thankfully it's not a bad smell. They are combined with an anti-marking spray (Comfort Zone) and a stress hormone (Feliway Optimum) on the wall. Summary: These collars have helped improve the overall peace in my home between three cats. The girl still has a big rbf (pictured) but she is a nicer/less shy girl and the tabby boy (also pictured) is less scared of her. I often forget collars because their fur covers them up pretty well.
