I have a problem with office chairs. I'm a "big and tall" guy so I tend to break them. My office enabled me to find a chair that met my needs for durability and comfort. We bought this chair about a year and a half ago. This chair is built like a tank. All major construction details are made of durable metal, with the exception of the wheels themselves. The wheels are made of plastic, but are significantly thicker than most "normal" office chairs. Hands rise and fall, and the gas bottle that keeps the chair at the right height hasn't let me down yet. The tilt (tilt) function is locked when idle, but when unlocked sufficient force is required to tilt it back. I've had chairs that offer little to no resistance when tilted. This can easily be tilted to the desired angle. (It stops at about 45 degrees recline.) In terms of comfort, I use this chair 8 hours a day with little or no fatigue. From time to time I have to get up and go for a walk, but this is more for my sanity than comfort. I'm also considering getting a chair like this for my desk at home.
