The quickest and easiest way to undo seams for someone who rips as much as they sew

I just feel like I'm ripping as much as I sew! But. I bought it while I was working on costumes for a play. It's 1000 times easier and faster than a traditional seam ripper and works well on silky, flexible fabrics as well as heavy-duty fabrics. I was afraid it would easily cut softer fabrics, but with a little care (no more than a traditional seam ripper) you can quickly cut to the length you want, overlock or straight stitch. I had to repeat the badly inflated sleeves 6 times before the director was happy and it kept me going! I would be wary of allowing young people to use this as it is basically a scalpel and very sharp. Buy extra blades if you can, because you'll love it so much you'll still be ordering blades. They stay sharp for a long time and work even when dull, it's just harder for the user, so save yourself and get extra blades. A tip for removing all those little threads that are cut and loose in the fabric is to use a sticky paper roll on the fabric to save a lot of time plucking out all those little threads. Added 3 months later: I still like it and it is used with 4 stitches. I'm finally going to break down and buy more blades! We recommend kids use a regular seam ripper, but they use mine at club meetings without incident. I love this shop!
