At first I was very impressed with the value of these shoes - they seemed strong and durable from the start. I put them on first and found them quite uncomfortable. I was expecting them to be a bit stiff at first, but they rubbed at the sore spot near my ankle and the reinforced toe plates dug into my feet when walking. However, I thought they just needed a little tweaking and in fact after a few days they became softer and fit my feet better. However, having only ridden them about 50 miles, the seams over the toe of the left boot are about where they would rub against my bike's shifter. And to be clear, I don't wear these shoes every day; I only wear them when skiing. I am very disappointed that these shoes wear out so much after such a short period of use. They obviously won't last long for their intended purpose.
