Cute, fun toy For children with lots of imagination and a thirst for adventure! The lantern shines, which he loves and uses often. Fire is the reason we got this one. doesn't light up and isn't even a sound machine with crackling fires and night sounds good for a 4 year old's imagination! I love marshmallows and crackers, just wish they had more chocolate in them. Another downside - a lot of other accessories made of very thin plastic and cheap, but the main thing I wanted is good, and for the price it will work. I can't comment on the lifespan as we've only had it for less than a month, but so far nothing has broken or broken.
