Mediocre color reproduction and weak banding

The colors on this monitor are just "off", no calibration or fiddling with settings can make everything look right. The closest I have been able to get this monitor to look like other displays I have (meaning the most neutral and similar colors) which end up being very slightly greenish white and reddish grey, with the other colors not being quite right either. Also, some colors, like some oranges and blues, show strange faint vertical bands that are visible at certain viewing distances (mainly the distance I normally sit from the screen). Maybe it's just my eyes seeing black lines between pixels and probably not something specific to this monitor, but I don't know. In any case, it's really annoying. As an amateur digital artist, color reproduction is very important and I was very disappointed with this monitor. Pros: This monitor is very nice to look at in terms of design, the overall thin design frees up desk space, the display can be very bright (piercing eye if you want) and aside from the weird color issues, it has a good quality picture . If you're not very sensitive to the quality of the paint then by all means go get it, but if you're a little picky like me, ok let it happen I think I might end up replacing it with something else and putting this away for an emergency or trying to get it back. It's nowhere near as good as the old AOC box (with LG internals) that has been replaced.
