Not very suitable for outdoor use. It would probably be better to protect an interior floor from dirt or stains if you just need to rush into a room when your shoes are already dirty, or when maintenance personnel walk in. They look like bulky grocery bags with a design that supposedly keeps them in place, but I found them quite slippery on wet grass. Even if you have a thick tread on your shoes, such as sneakers or work boots, you don't have to walk a lot on the street or on uneven surfaces for the corners of your shoe's tread to poke holes in these covers.
