Review on Blue El Wire Portable Lights Kit For Electric Forest, Christmas, Halloween DIY Party Decoration By ZITRADES by Mike Woolford

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Inexpensive yet bright and functional

I used this 5 wire EL set to make my halloween costume this year. I went as a stick figure, and the wires worked perfectly as arms and legs for me. I had to make some extensions for the wires so they would consistently reach the inverter, but that was a simple splice and tape job using some cheap wire from Lowes. The 5 wire sets are not as bright as the one wire sets probably because this one is pushing a few more feet.Using this in conjunction with a single 3M wire, I was able to complete the head and torso for this project and it came out pretty cool. As others noticed, there is a whine from the inverter and in a quiet room, it's noticeable. However outdoors, I didn't hear it at all. I had it on for about two hours while gathering candy with my daughter, and the AA batteries held up nicely. This is a thinner wire, so it bent easily in circular shapes, and was easy to sew into clothing using fishing line. For the cost, roughly $30 for the two sets, I was able to make a costume that I've seen go for up to $250 online. Save yourself some money and make your own.As for 4 stars, the inverter is made of pretty brittle plastic and the clip broke in half, so be cautious when putting it on your belt. A pocket works best.
