Let me start by saying that I had a previous pair of shoes in this line that are now out of production and they were the best shoes I have ever owned. They were so good I wore them daily for almost 3 years until they almost fell apart. When I finally had to give them up I was sure Merrell would supply another quality product so I went straight for this one. These shoes have so much potential but are overshadowed by terrible build quality. I'll start with the positive things. The color and design are pleasant, really draw attention. Lots of compliments from people who have never seen them before and ask where I got them from. Lightweight and comfortable for people who like shoes that don't offer enough support. Now for the bad. When I first opened them up, I was surprised to see visible glued seams on the outside of the material connecting the upper and sole. They are visible on both shoes and look very unsightly when someone takes a look at your feet. As a side note, I wasn't initially a fan of the fit, but this compares to a previous version I owned. As an independent shoe, comfort is acceptable. Still, they feel very light and I was curious how long they would last given the questionable build quality. seams! The material is torn in the middle of the fabric! (On both shoes) What is that cheap material that doesn't stand up to everyday walking? (I don't run in them, I just wear them to work and the gym occasionally). I know some people think it's because I have wide feet, but that's definitely not the case. I'm a standard size and have had several custom made dress shoes so I know my sizes well. worked for me. The first gloves I had were so comfortable and well made that I really thought I would wear this brand for the rest of my life. OK, on to the next one.
