I have a nice big granite island in my kitchen. I had plain napkins but they were woven and I was sick of food getting in holes and I don't want the hassle of cloth napkins. I couldn't find the perfect light clean pattern to complement my granite and that's when I realized why I should cover it up. So I went for these clear napkins. I like her! I can't even tell they are there. I am very happy with them. NOTE: They are not as easy to move/lift as regular wipes. They're stuck so I have to rip them off somehow to get them up. But it also means no food gets underneath and you don't have to clean underneath often. I don't put hot dishes on it so I can't speak about heat resistance. I would not advise you to put hot objects on it. Regular plates/kitchen utensils only. I am very happy with them.
