My beloved fiancee and I spent two years in Italy (I know, a hard life) and really became connoisseurs of a wonderful café. Although K-Cafe isn't a "real" espresso, it's a phenomenal substitute. The fan is amazing! I'm still not entirely sure how this little booger works: but after a minute in a foaming mug at room temperature, half and half will have the consistency of shaving cream. Simply fill it up to the appropriate line, close the lid and press the button. Did. Start with that, go to the coffee side, and it all gets done around the same time. There is a setting for coffee or latte/capo. When you select the latte/capo button, the device automatically selects "STRONG" and "SHOT". He knows what you want and sets it up for you. For cappuccino I use two shots of Black Rifle AK Espresso or their Death Punch. And for Keurig, it's as close to the real thing as you can get without an actual vapor injection engine. And I can't sleep for three days! For regular coffee, experiment with different sizes and strengths to find the perfect cup for YOU. The dear bride is dreaming of two 8oz French Roast pods for her favorite morning appetizer. I'm not a big coffee drinker anymore (I kind of drank coffee in the Navy) but when I want a good strong espresso or cappucino it doesn't get much better or easier. We're glad we dropped our old Keurig and got it, and have no hesitation in recommending it!
