I was just trying to install a couple of these modules in my Dell XPS 8300 and unfortunately it didn't work even though the module is listed as compatible with the Dell XPS 8300 on the Patriot website. I made sure I was using the correct pair of banks on the motherboard, tried multiple times in multiple slots, with and without another pair of smaller RAM sticks, to no avail. I got terrible 4 bios beeps and wouldn't boot. Once I removed those slats and put everything back the way it was, everything was fine. I can honestly say that the first time this happened to me was trying to upgrade memory in a computer, which I've done hundreds of times. once.
